Conditions for book loans
You need to become a member of the Franco-American Institute in order to loan books.
You may check out up to 6 items at a time– including up to 2 audio books – for 3 weeks
You may return borrowed items during library open hours or by postal service.
Renewing borrowed items
You may renew circulating items once, provided they have not been requested by another borrower. You may renew items by email, phone or directly at the library.
Holding an item
You may place a hold on any borrowed item by phone, email, or directly at the library. Once the desired item is returned, a notice is sent to the borrower. The hold expires after two weeks.
Returning items late will prevent you from borrowing other items. The suspension period will equate to the number of days overdue.
Fines for overdue items:
- 0,15€ per day and item (adults)
- 0,07€ per day and item (minors) or 2-week borrowing suspension
Your library card will be blocked after 7 days and over.
For your information:
– A first overdue notice is edited after 2 days and sent on the third day, provided the user gave a valid and functional email address.
– A second overdue notice will be sent after 20 days, by email or by the post.
Lost or deteriorated items
All lost or deteriorated items must be replaced. You will have to pay the purchase price of the item.
Photocopies / Scan rates: 0,20€ per page
